Cricket may or may not be included in 2020 Olympics, which depends on the decision of International Cricket Council and its members.
Ice hockey, Bobsleigh, and curling are the only team sports at the Winter Olympics.

Histry of the Game

The history of sports probably extends as far back as the existence of people as purposive sportive and active beings. Sport has been a useful way for people to increase their mastery of nature and the environment. The history of sport can teach us a great deal about social changes and about the nature of sport itself. Sport seems to involve basic human skills being developed and exercised for their own sake, in parallel with being exercised for their usefulness. It also shows how society has changed its beliefs and therefore there are changes in the rules. Of course, as we go further back in history the dwindling evidence makes the theories of the origins and purposes of sport difficult to support. Nonetheless, its importance in human history is undeniable.

Benifits of Team Games

A team sport is valuable in many ways. Participating in team sports can help individuals with certain attributes such as communication, sportsmanship, resiliency, and others that are needed. Individuals learn how to communicate effectively with each other whether it be verbally or physically with the use of signs or gestures in order to relay the game plan to each other or exploit the weakness of the opposition. Poor communication amongst team members is usually a recipe for failure. That is why the development of good communication skills is crucial when participating in a team sport. All good teams have good communication skills and good leadership which makes them successful. A strong leader reinforces the attributes of a successful team and makes sure there is unity amongst the team.
Developing the proper sportsmanship is important for the integrity of the team as well as for the game. It is a rule of life that things will not always go in our favor. In this case, a team will not always accomplish their goals in competition like winning so that is why developing methods for coping with a bad loss or poor performance is valuable in moving forward and dealing with adversity. Being a "sore loser" is not an option. Team members must be resilient and find ways to pick themselves up and move on by working harder and finding ways to improve their performance so they can prepare for their next competition. The development of these skills will lead to a more optimistic and confident atmosphere in the team which will lead to a better performance and hopefully, better results.
Participating in a team sport can have many healthy physical benefits as well. For someone to be able to perform at a maximum level, they must develop healthy habits in nutrition and physical fitness. These are crucial aspects when it comes to an athlete maintaining his or her abilities to do what they do best and to enjoy a long and successful career. The body of an an athlete is very fragile and needs constant attention and care. Some athletes turn to performance-enhancing drugs to give them an added boost which is illegal and even a deadly decision for any athlete to make. Exercise combined with the proper nutrition, hard work, and perseverance is what keeps an athlete going and is the key to a long and healthy career and life.
The benefits described above can also provide an individual with lifelong lessons that will help them succeed with the burdens of everyday life by allowing them to take an open-minded and strategic approach to situations that might arise and use the skills they learned on the field to make the best possible decisions.
